Atlanta Lawn Tennis is a shorter term for the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA).  ALTA is the largest non profit tennis organization in the United States and has over 70,000 participating members.  Created in 1988, this one-of-a-kind organization lead the way in bringing city wide league team tennis  to a tennis starved city.  Today it continues to grow and thrive under the strong leadership and experience of its volunteer members.

The Underlying Value of Atlanta Lawn Tennis

As long time family members of ALTA (altatennis.org), it occurred to me only recently the real and long lasting value this organization has given me and my 3 children.  ALTAtennis has allowed us, and sometimes forced us, to have the opportunity to get out there and learn how to interact and enjoy team competition with your team mates and your opponents.  You not only get the benefits of the physical exercise, but something else that today’s generation is rapidly loosing . . the ability to effectively interact with others in a person to person, present moment experience.  It has become way too easy to deal with others using a keyboard rather than a face to face discussion, or, for that matter, even a telephone conversation.  Get tennis lessons Atlanta!

Is A Faster Life A Better Life?

There is no question that using an Internet connection can be a faster and more efficient way to run your business and personal life.  However, what about the results we get from dealing with people and situations this way?  It seems to me that it invites too much self centered thought and self centered action.  It’s become too easy and too often for people to internally rationalize that their feelings and decisions are the right ones.  They then try force others to do it their way without the benefit of outside thought, ideas, or advice.  This is a growing problem that will eventually lead to disaster if we do not do something to offset this imbalance.
